Artwork Info:
Title: Torn Apart, Stitched Together
Medium: Handwritten poems on paper chosen by poets, thread, glass beads
Dimensions: Dimensions variable upon installation
Collaborating Poets: Bootz the Poet, Courtney Matthews, Emily Bush, Sarah Rose Sharp, & Senomneart
Description: My contribution to Environments + Microclimates was to invite local poets to collaborate on an installation and event. Each poet responded to the prompt, “Write about the people or places you consider home.” They then handwrote their poems on paper of their choosing and gave it to me. I cut and pieced the poems into delicate paper quilts that I hung, staggered, in the main area of the Boyer Campbell Building.
